Sale price after one discount or a stack of them: percentages and fixed amounts in order, every step shown, the true combined percentage, tax at your rate.

The final price, the saving and the real percentage off after stacked discounts — with the compounding made visible, so 20 % then 10 % is shown as 28 %, not 30 %.

Example: 120 with 20 % off, then 10 % off, then 5 off → 96.00 → 86.40 → 81.40: a saving of 38.60, 32.17 % in total; with 8 % tax the price is 87.91.

The steps

Discounts are applied in the order listed, each to the price left by the previous one. A percentage step takes that share of the running price; a fixed step takes the amount off, and never below zero. The table shows the price before and after every step, so the arithmetic can be followed line by line. The saving is the original price minus the final price, and the effective percentage is that saving as a share of the original.

Why 20 % + 10 % is 28 %

The second percentage applies to a price already reduced by the first: 100 → 80 → 72, so 28 % off, not 30. In general the combined factor is the product of (1 − each rate). The page reports both the added-together figure and the real one whenever more than one percentage is stacked, because shop signs and coupons often imply the sum. The order of two percentage steps does not change the result; the order of a percentage and a fixed amount does, and the page follows the order you give.

Tax, quantity, and what is left out

Tax at the rate you enter is added to the final discounted price, which is how sales tax and VAT are normally charged on sale items; if your discount applies after tax, enter 0 here and discount the gross price instead. Quantity multiplies the taxed price for a line total. Loyalty points, cashback and coupons with minimum-spend conditions are not modelled. Nothing you enter leaves the browser; the same four anonymous usage counts as the rest of the site apply.
