Area from shapes
Add the shapes that make up the lawn: rectangles (length × width), circles (π d² ÷ 4 from the diameter), triangles (base × height ÷ 2), or an area you already know. The page shows each area and the total in both ft² and m², so a supplier quoting in the other unit is easy to match.
Rolls and waste
Rolls are the area (plus your waste percentage) divided by one roll's area, rounded up. Roll and slab sizes vary by supplier and region — 2 × 5 ft, 16 × 24 in, 0.61 × 1.64 m and many others — so the size is entered, not assumed. Waste covers cutting around curves and obstacles and the offcuts of staggered joints; none is assumed.
Pallets and cost
Rolls per pallet and price per roll are the supplier's figures; the page multiplies and shows fractional pallets so you can decide whether to round up an order.
What the number does not settle
Ground preparation, topsoil depth, rolling, watering and delivery minimums are outside this page. Order for the day of laying; turf on a pallet has a short life. Inputs stay in your browser; the same four anonymous usage counts as the rest of the site apply.
