Overtime Pay Calculator

Hours per day split into pay bands by your rules — daily tiers (over 8 h × 1.5, over 12 h × 2), a weekly threshold, rest-day and holiday multipliers.

Per day and per band: regular, daily-tier, weekly-tier and special hours with their pay, the total, the base-rate equivalent and the premium above it — no jurisdiction assumed.

Example: At 20/h with 8 h × 1.5, 12 h × 2 and 40 h weekly: days of 10, 9, 8, 13, 8 and a 4 h rest day give 40 regular, 7 h at 1.5, 1 h at 2, 4 h rest at 1.5 — 1,170 in all, 130 above base.

BUILT TO BE UNDERSTOOD

Bands from your rules,
no jurisdiction assumed.

How hours are split into bands, in what order, and what the multipliers apply to.

Daily tiers

For each work day the hours above the first threshold go to tier 1 at its multiplier and the hours above the second threshold to tier 2 at its multiplier (8 h at 1.5× and 12 h at 2× is a common shape, but the figures are yours). What is left is regular time.

Weekly threshold and day types

The regular hours are then counted through the days in the order entered; once they pass the weekly threshold the remainder is paid at the weekly multiplier — so no hour is paid twice, the usual "greater of" ordering. A rest day or holiday pays all its hours at its own multiplier and counts toward the weekly threshold only if you say so.

What is not here

Every threshold and multiplier is entered by you; no statutory rule for any country is built in, allowances and shift premiums are not modelled, and the multipliers apply to the one base rate you gave. If your agreement stacks tiers differently, split the period and run each part. Nothing leaves the browser; the same four anonymous usage counts as the rest of the site apply.
